Consistent IT across your whole trust

A trust is a family of schools, and it works best when every site runs the same dependable technology. Most trusts we speak to have inherited something different at each school — different suppliers, different hardware, different levels of security — and no single view of what any of it costs.

We bring the same specialist education IT support we give individual schools, then join it up across the trust: one point of contact, standardised systems, trust-wide cyber security and account-managed procurement that scales from a two-school trust to a large one. Central teams get visibility; individual schools keep the responsiveness they need.

QUESTIONS FROM TRUSTSTrust IT support: your questions answered

What trust leaders, COOs and central IT teams ask us before they commit. If yours is not covered, get in touch and we will give you a straight answer.

Do we have to move every school at once?

No, and we would usually advise against it. Most trusts start with one or two schools — often the ones with the most pressing problems or a contract about to end — and bring the others across as their existing agreements expire or equipment comes up for renewal. You get the benefit early without a disruptive big-bang migration.

Can individual schools keep some independence?

Yes. Standardisation should make life easier, not straitjacket a school that has a good reason to work differently — a specialist provision or a particular teaching approach, for example. We agree a trust standard for the things that genuinely benefit from consistency, such as security, backup and support, and allow sensible variation elsewhere.

How does this work with our central IT team?

Many trusts have a central IT lead or a network manager at a larger school. Our co-managed IT model is built for exactly that — we take on routine tickets, monitoring and out-of-hours cover so your people can focus on strategy and the things only they know, with senior engineers available to escalate to.

What happens when a new school joins the trust?

We audit the incoming school, document what it has, and produce a costed plan to bring it onto the trust standard. Support, monitoring and helpdesk access can be switched on quickly, with hardware and network work phased to suit the budget. Growth should not mean starting the whole process again.

Can you roll out Cyber Essentials across all our schools?

Yes. We take schools through the government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme individually while working to one trust-wide security standard, so certification is consistent rather than something each school tackles alone. It protects against the large majority of common threats and includes cyber insurance cover.

What reporting does the central team get?

Trust-wide asset reports covering every device, WEEE certificates for disposals, and a manager view of all open tickets across the estate. Alongside that, each school gets a five-year costed plan, which together give the board a realistic picture of what the trust’s IT will cost over time.

How does procurement work across a trust?

Our business account managers handle IT procurement centrally, so every school buys the same specified hardware at the same price rather than negotiating separately. Old devices can be traded in or recycled through our WEEE scheme, which reduces both waste and the cost of the next purchase.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Radstock near Bath and support trusts with schools across Bath, Bristol, Midsomer Norton, Frome, Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon, Keynsham, Wells, Glastonbury, Street, Chippenham, Devizes, Warminster and the wider Somerset and Wiltshire area. Multi-site engineer cover is built into how we work.
